PAN ARAB UNION FOR PEACE

NEWSLETTER Issue #15 January 3, 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Dedicated to PEACE AND PROSPERITY in 1998 (God-willing) ------------------------------------------------------------------ "May he rest in peace. . ." The Tragedy of Assassination Politics -------------------------------------- Jack Newfield (NY columnist), in his tribute to the Kennedys after the death 12/31/97 of our dear Michael [God rest his soul], chose the poignant story of RFK's visit to a Mississippi constituent where he held a malnourished child in his arms and wept. [The shortest verse in the Bible: "Jesus wept."] Nowhere in the American political scene is there the sensitivity of Robert Francis Kennedy -- and yet one view of his assassination is that it occurred because of his befriending of Israel. What tragedy -- that he was killed for his political beliefs and that the result today is that hundreds of thousands [I believe the figure to be 2M] Iraqi children are [malnourished or] dead -- the DELIBERATE ACT of American politicians. EXTREME IRONY Robert Kennedy could not hold one malnourished child without crying out to God and the "powers-that-be" NOW in Washington can callously starve TO DEATH thousands of children EACH MONTH in Iraq [Bobbie, where are you?] seemingly with impunity. Edward M. Kennedy, U.S. Senator (D-Massachusetts) once said: "I am not the one who cares; Bobby was the one who cared." Would that he WOULD CARE. Leading By Example "Shall we not reap. . ." ------------------------------- To the current regime in Washington, I say once again: SHALL WE NOT REAP JUST WHAT WE SOW? When you speak of assassinating foreign leaders, you breed foreign assassins. When you "deal death to children" you reap the WRATH of GOD. E N D E C O N O M I C S A N C T I O N S N O W!!!
